A short note...

I don't have any pictures to download right now. I am waiting to take pictures on Christmas before I post anything new.

We have had so much going on! The birthday party was great! He was such a sweet little man. He did not care for his cake very much, but he ate chicken and pasta salad. He participated in opening gifts as long as he could stand it! He wanted to play with all of the goodies as soon as he opened them! He showed off his ability to walk, stand, and stoop by himself too. I am such a proud mommy! It still breaks my heart that my little sweetheart is growing up. I don't want him to!

Kade is super excited about the Christmas tree and has tried to open several of the gifts already. I will post birthday and Christmas pictures as soon as I can.

We hope everyone has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! We love each of you very much!

I am so thankful....

Sorry I have given out updated info in a while (if you think I am a slacker on here you should look at my Myspace or Facebook page!).
We have been super busy lately. Reid's dad had open heart surgery Monday and that has been the focus for us this past week. We did Thanksgiving with his family the Sunday before, and Thanksgiving with my family Thursday. Of course, our Saturday was completely consumed with the Iron Bowl. Leanne (whom I must say is absolutely gorgeous prego...with twins!) took pictures of the fam on Sunday.

Kade is growing by leaps and bounds. We are in the process of finalizing his birthday plans. He is walking more each day. He will take about 10 steps by himself, and he happily walks around the house if you will give him a hand to hold onto.

He has increased his "vocabulary" a lot over the last week or so. He can say a "ruff" if you ask him what a dog says and "mmmm" if you ask him what a cow says. He finally has the blowing a kiss thing down!

I miss him so much whenever I am not with him and now that his 1st birthday is approaching, my heartstrings feel like someone is tugging on them almost all of the time.

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We did and we have so much to be thankful for!

Love,
Reid, Karla, and Kade

An update on Kade....

Sorry it took so long!

Kade is feeling great. He is finally over all of the sickness going around daycare. Yay!

He is growing and changing everyday. I just discovered 2 new teeth coming in (for a total of 8 teeth!).

He will wave and say "Hey" or "Bye". He will also say "what's that" if he hears something in another room. He will clap and say "yay!" if you do something he likes. He loves talking on the phone too! :)

He is trying to walk/stand without holding onto things. He is still dancing too!

These days, he finds EVERYTHING funny!

He loves his dog (Auburn) - well at least until she starts licking him!

We went to the Pumpkin Patch Saturday. He was not in the best mood, but we survived. He LOVES his pumpkins though (artificial and real). We turn the lights off and light up the pumpkins, and he goes crazy! I can only imagine what Christmas will be like! :)

Well, that is all I have for now. Maybe I will make it on here again within the next 2 weeks.
Until then...
We love you!

**By the way, Leanne and Scott are expecting! Woohoo!!!!! Keep them in your prayers!

Not feeling well....

For almost 10 months, Kade Riley has been extremely healthy (not counting a few rashes here and there). In the last week, we have experienced indescribable bowel movements and now our first ear infection. Kade stayed home with Reid last Friday while his bowel movements tested the absorption of his Huggies! Today, Fairfax called to say that he cried and pulled his ear a lot today. Everyone knows that Kade just does not cry!
So, off to the doctor, again!
While we waited to be seen, he screamed and tears rolled down his face. It did not matter that mommy had him or that I tried EVERYTHING under the sun to make him happy. He was in pain and he wanted the world to know it! As soon as the doctor looked at his right ear, it was confirmed. He had a minor ear infection. Although the doctor said minor, I knew from the way he was screaming that it did not matter - Kade was hurting!
I have cried a thousand times thanking the Lord for my little blessing. Today was the first time I cried with my baby because I could not "fix" his pain.
Now, I know what it means to want to take someone's pain away and bear it yourself.

We have an antibiotic and Tylenol now. Maybe we can steer clear of any more sickness for the remainder of this year.
I know I have been very lucky thus far. I just pray our luck continues!

I will have some new pictures up next week. The trips to the doctor have messed up my picture schedule! :)

We are diligently praying for Leanne and Scott. Please keep them in your prayers also!

Until next time....
We love all of you and hope you have a great week!

Busy, busy

I have definitely been a slacker when it comes to updating our blog. With football season, work, and just everyday chores, I rarely have time for anything related to the computer!

Kade is now officially 9 months old and weighs 21 lbs. 3 oz. We are still dealing with the 4 new teeth that have "sprouted" in his mouth. He is eating a regular lunch tray at school, and I think it has created a monster. He does not want baby food any more. He thinks he is supposed to eat whatever mama is eating. Which, I guess, it really is a good thing.
He dances more and more each day. His favorite song right now is the theme song to Sex and the City. :) Sad, I know!

We went tailgating this past weekend (LSU game). Kade was WONDERFUL! He really enjoyed all of the music and attention. Aunt Brandee and Uncle Otto stayed with us all weekend, and I think Kade enjoyed having them here as much as I did. We are ready for the Arkansas game. We are tailgating with Reid's family, and I know Kade will enjoy playing with Aunt LeLe and Braden.

We made a quick trip to Old Navy to pick up some fall/winter clothes for Kade. We put a hat on him, just to try it on, and Kade thought it was hilarious! I have never heard him laugh so hard! Obviously, we bought the hat!

I don't want him to grow up! If anyone knows about a secret "pause" button that I can just push, let me know. :)

Reid and I are busy as usual - either at work or here at home. This year is going by so fast!

Hopefully, I will be able to update everyone in the next week or so. Hope everyone has a great week! We love you!!!!

Hey!

After discovering that blog spot even existed (thanks Leanne!), I decided I would create an account and try it out. I thought it would be a good idea to keep everyone updated about our lives and about Kade. Hopefully, I will have a chance to post a blog every week or two just to let everyone know about any new developments in our lives.

So for now...
Reid is working like crazy- between the City and here at home. I am finally starting to feel comfortable with my new position at Shawmut (FINALLY!). Kade changes so much each day!
He started crawling around the end of July, and he seems to be "on the go" all of the time now. He is always in to something, and he is always so happy. We laugh and play everyday when I pick him up from "school".
He has 4 new teeth- which have been keeping he and I both up at night lately! :)
"Dancing" and clapping his hands are two of the funniest things right now. Bath time is also a favorite!
He is drinking from a sippy cup and eating any and everything. He really loves spaghetti!
His blonde hair grows thicker and longer each day and he is still a little chunky (which I love).
He says "DaDa" all of the time and just started saying "BaBa". He has said "MaMa" maybe 3 times. Reid loves the fact that he says "DaDa" more than "Ma Ma"!

Hopefully, I will get a good picture of his 4 new teeth soon and I will post it on here.

We hope everyone is doing great! Have a wonderful week (what is left of it anyways)! Be sure to support Auburn this Saturday! War Eagle!

We love you!
