So many blessings!

School is out! Yay! This is the first summer that I actually get a break (no summer school, no college, nothing!).
At the end of April, Jaime had Avery. She is beautiful and her hair is wild and crazy!

As soon as school ended, we all went to Destin with my best friends (Brandee, Otto, and Bailey). Kade LOVED being with them and loved being at the beach. I have to admit I loved being with them too. :)

When we returned from our well deserved vacation, Leanne had Riley Grace and Brooklyn Hope. So the next weekend, we were off to North Carolina! Those 2 girls are absolutely amazing! I know that Leanne and Scott are going to be great parents and I cannot think of anyone else that deserves 2 beautiful little girls more than they do.

While we were in NC visiting the family, we decided to reveal a little secret of our own. Kade wore his "I'm a Big Brother" shirt to Aunt LeLe's house. Yes, I am pregnant! We are super excited and I cannot believe that we will have another little angel in our house in less than a year!

Obviously, we've had lots going this spring, but it is all worth it.

My little man is growing up and is talking more and more each day. He used his potty for the first time yesterday and was very proud of himself. He even had to tell Granny about it on the phone!

Please keep our new little baby and Kade in your prayers. We are so blessed with an ever-growing family and wonderful friends!

We love you all so much!

Spring is finally here!

We are loving the warm (well warmer) weather! Kade insists on being outside almost all of the time.

Since I have been out on Spring Break this week, he and I have spent quality time together. He has definitely made me want to be out of school more often. His charming personality and endless smiles tug on my heart daily.

He is turning out to be a little man for sure. No matter how many times I say "no" to something (i.e. touching the electrical outlet, playing in mommy's jewelry box) he still puts his hand on it and just looks at me. One new love is his sunglasses. He is also trying to play t-ball and is running everywhere. His dance moves have drastically improved (he is more like his daddy everyday)!

We are having my family Easter this Sunday, but he has already "hunted" twice. He calls the eggs "balls", but he loves opening the plastic eggs to get the chocolate before I can stop him.

His ears are doing great (keep your fingers crossed). He is eating us out of the house too!

We are counting down the days until we go to Destin with Aunt Brandee, Uncle Otto, and Aunt Bailey. Thank goodness Spring has arrived!

We love you all!

Happy Valentine's Day!

It has been crazy around our house over the last month. We have all been sick at some point (Kade has been sick almost constantly).

We went to see Aunt Louise and Carol in January to pick up some gorgeous furniture! Unfortunately, Kade and I were sick the entire trip. Maybe next time, we can actually visit with everyone instead of throwing up the whole time.

We found out today that Kade will have tubes put in Thursday. I know the procedure is extremely common and there are rarely ever complications, but this is my baby we are talking about. Just please keep us in your prayers.

Kade's first school party will be Friday. Although he will not be at school Friday, I am going to take him by to pass out his Valentine cards. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!
Hope everyone is doing great! We love you!

Chaos....

Sorry I have neglected our blog lately. We have had entirely too much going on.

Kade turned a year old on December 15th. His party was "The Big One!" We had family and close friends over and I think the party went over well. Kade enjoyed all of the other children at the party. I cannot believe how quickly he is growing up. It absolutely breaks my heart!

We had a WONDERFUL Christmas! Kade received more than enough gifts (between birthday and Christmas). Our den looks like a toy store exploded in it!

He enjoyed opening the gifts he received and even tried to open gifts that were not his. I am sure next year will be even more fun!

The New Year has not been the bearer of good news. We found out Monday that Kade will have to have tubes put in both ears. We will find out this week when this will occur. He has had fluid in one ear since October. The doctor thinks it is time to do something besides another antibiotic. I am scared, but I agree.

We also found out this week that Reid's job with the City could be compromised. The City has started laying people off due to the economic problems going on. They may have to send Reid to a Police Academy to keep him on with the City. That will mean 3 months without DaDa around. It scares me to death to think of Reid being a policeman. I don't want it to come to that.

But, who knows...they may lay him off before he gets a chance to go to the Police Academy. We are just waiting right now to see what is going to happen.

Please just keep us in your prayers as we work through this tough time.
We love you all! I will give you an update on everything as soon as I can.

A short note...

I don't have any pictures to download right now. I am waiting to take pictures on Christmas before I post anything new.

We have had so much going on! The birthday party was great! He was such a sweet little man. He did not care for his cake very much, but he ate chicken and pasta salad. He participated in opening gifts as long as he could stand it! He wanted to play with all of the goodies as soon as he opened them! He showed off his ability to walk, stand, and stoop by himself too. I am such a proud mommy! It still breaks my heart that my little sweetheart is growing up. I don't want him to!

Kade is super excited about the Christmas tree and has tried to open several of the gifts already. I will post birthday and Christmas pictures as soon as I can.

We hope everyone has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! We love each of you very much!

I am so thankful....

Sorry I have given out updated info in a while (if you think I am a slacker on here you should look at my Myspace or Facebook page!).
We have been super busy lately. Reid's dad had open heart surgery Monday and that has been the focus for us this past week. We did Thanksgiving with his family the Sunday before, and Thanksgiving with my family Thursday. Of course, our Saturday was completely consumed with the Iron Bowl. Leanne (whom I must say is absolutely gorgeous prego...with twins!) took pictures of the fam on Sunday.

Kade is growing by leaps and bounds. We are in the process of finalizing his birthday plans. He is walking more each day. He will take about 10 steps by himself, and he happily walks around the house if you will give him a hand to hold onto.

He has increased his "vocabulary" a lot over the last week or so. He can say a "ruff" if you ask him what a dog says and "mmmm" if you ask him what a cow says. He finally has the blowing a kiss thing down!

I miss him so much whenever I am not with him and now that his 1st birthday is approaching, my heartstrings feel like someone is tugging on them almost all of the time.

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We did and we have so much to be thankful for!

Love,
Reid, Karla, and Kade

An update on Kade....

Sorry it took so long!

Kade is feeling great. He is finally over all of the sickness going around daycare. Yay!

He is growing and changing everyday. I just discovered 2 new teeth coming in (for a total of 8 teeth!).

He will wave and say "Hey" or "Bye". He will also say "what's that" if he hears something in another room. He will clap and say "yay!" if you do something he likes. He loves talking on the phone too! :)

He is trying to walk/stand without holding onto things. He is still dancing too!

These days, he finds EVERYTHING funny!

He loves his dog (Auburn) - well at least until she starts licking him!

We went to the Pumpkin Patch Saturday. He was not in the best mood, but we survived. He LOVES his pumpkins though (artificial and real). We turn the lights off and light up the pumpkins, and he goes crazy! I can only imagine what Christmas will be like! :)

Well, that is all I have for now. Maybe I will make it on here again within the next 2 weeks.
Until then...
We love you!
Reid, Karla, and Kade
**By the way, Leanne and Scott are expecting! Woohoo!!!!! Keep them in your prayers!
